Newspeak

Newspeak is the fictional language of Oceania, a totalitarian superstate that is the setting of dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, by George Orwell. In the novel, the Party created Newspeak: 309  to meet the ideological requirements of English Socialism in Oceania. Newspeak is a controlled language of simplified grammar and restricted vocabulary designed to limit the individual's ability to think and articulate "subversive" concepts such as personal identity, self-expression and free will. Such concepts are criminalized as thoughtcrime since they contradict the prevailing Ingsoc orthodoxy. In "The Principles of Newspeak", the appendix to the novel, Orwell explains that Newspeak follows most of the rules of English grammar, yet is a language characterised by… more »

The secrets that you've told me
Have slipped to afterlife
There is no coming back
Severed
Its hard for me to understand
I can see your face in dark
Servitude for broken mark
I can't abide all the sanctimony acts
Brutality's the only way to get to know the truth
I won't mitigate the things I'll say to you
Everybody disobey
Collisions and disarray
All the people on their knees – they pray
Pray that it has to be the only way
To keep yourself in play
To save yourself from pain
To keep yourself from pain
All my feelings have drowned
I will stand my ground
In spite of dystopian frauds
I will stand my ground
Before the emptiness takes us all
Stand my ground
This Scorn is the face you face in face of every days of
This Scorn is the place you place in place of every days you
Discord that just breaks the brakes of stakes that someone pays for
This scorn – the enemy
And if someone chases the scorn
They will feel what it's like
And if someone runs in the storm
They will feel what it's like
Behind the smiles we wear
There's a darkness we can't bear
The hatred that we share
A burden, beyond repair
The hate and envy fuel of our war
Let it all out, embrace the scorn
Let the darkness reign - forevermore
Forevermore
My whole life is the same
My desire - it abates
I can be your God – the only one you could ever, ever trust
Through all this fire, through all this lust
The truth is out there – in the scars
Say your prayers unto me
Let them hear your cry
Hide!
You can't decide
All my feelings have drowned
I will stand my ground
In spite of dystopian frauds
I will stand my ground
Before the emptiness takes us all
And if someone chases the scorn
They will feel what it's like
And if someone runs in a storm
They will feel what it's like
They will feel what it's like
