Diglossia

In linguistics, diglossia ( dy-GLOSS-ee-ə, US also dy-GLAW-see-ə) is a situation in which two dialects or languages are used (in fairly strict compartmentalization) by a single language community. In addition to the community's everyday or vernacular language variety (labeled "L" or "low" variety), a second, highly codified lect (labeled "H" or "high") is used in certain situations such as literature, formal education, or other specific settings, but not used normally for ordinary conversation. The H variety may have no native speakers but various degrees of fluency of the low speakers. In cases of three dialects, the term triglossia is used. With spyglass in hand
We tip the scales
Of greater demand
Upon the sails
Lost treasures in sand
Most pleasures rescend
Toward a restless starry highlight
Of the day
Unto the night
Without the guide
The intrigue
Or the map thats ripped in half
The waves will start to crash
Shedding light upon the rocks
Clouds will part these two half knots
With speed no tide can ever bring defeat

All souls aboard
A plank to other shores
Climb on frayed
Ropes of curiousity
A burden of the sea
A beast for you and me
Setting course to find just who you are
Nautical Scar
Nautical Scar
Look behind to find just where you are
Nautical Scar

Through perilous quest
Hints of rum and raven's nest
Battling the fog
Along once gifted skies above
A treasonous retreat
And a belief in what can be
Another world that sits amidst
A siren here so deep
Daggers at hand
Anchored all alone
Sons of barren land
And a barrel for a stone
My guesses lead to tyranny
Of might, and moors, and mutiny
I am steering toward the ending
Of a flat plane soon to be

All souls aboard
A plank to other shores
Climb on frayed
Ropes of curiousity
A burden of the sea
A beast for you and me
Setting course to find just who you are
Nautical Scar
Nautical Scar
Look behind to find just where you are
Nautical Scar

Celestial scene
Blanket of thieves
Winds from the north
Cutting forth
Darkened forces they bring
Oceans of intricacy
Flowing away from the weak
Capsized, alive in the wake
To baptize the fleet

All souls aboard
A plank to other shores
Climb on frayed
Ropes of curiousity
A burden of the sea
A beast for you and me
Setting course to find just who you are
Nautical Scar
Nautical Scar
Right on course to find just where you are
