No more depressing songs
Gotta stop singing about things that are bad
Cause no one will sing along
To how much of a sad sack I am
Nobody wants to hear my inner turmoil projected on the stage
So I better stop right here before my friends start asking if I'm ok

Cause anyway Morrisey's a piece of shit
And don't try to be Elliott Smith
Cause he's dead and you'll never reach that level of genius
Don't try to be Phoebe or Sufjan or any other singer-songwriter that writes soul-crushing songs
Don't try to write an album like The Wall cause this is an EP anyway so it can't be very long.

Gotta get out of this strange depressive writing funk that I'm in
Cause even heaven knows I don't make good things when I'm depressed
Maybe I should go get help then try to write a different tune
Or maybe I just won't and leave myself in ruin.
