Reunion

"Life Is a Rock (But the Radio Rolled Me)" is a 1974 song by an ad hoc group of studio musicians called Reunion, with Joey Levine (bubblegum music pioneer with "Chewy Chewy" and "Yummy Yummy Yummy" to his credit) as the lead singer. The song was written by Paul DiFranco (music) and Norman Dolph (lyrics). The lyrics are a fast patter of 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s disc jockeys, musicians, songwriters, record labels, song titles and lyrics, broken only by the chorus. more »

Become A Better Singer In Only 30 Days, With Easy Video Lessons!

What can I say? What can I say while we're standing alone?
What can I say? What can I say that'll cut to the bone?
What can I say? What can I say knowing that my feet are buried in the ground?
Never change never change so stuck on myself
Never change never change put it back on the shelf
Never change never change never taken a single dose of meditative medicine
This is an open book exposing all the evidence I face
I seem to see myself as free while these shackles stay in place
I hope they hide the key don't release me until I learn to give respect
Just keep me away don't let me out until I sit here and reflect
Where will you go? Where will you go while I figure things out?
Where will you go? Where will you go? Don't leave me in doubt.
Where will you go? Where will you go when the days turn into months and into years?
I'm to blame I'm to blame I won't do it again
I'm to blame I'm to blame I know I can't pretend
I'm to blame I'm to blame when will my ego just concede and let me make amends
This is an open book exposing all the evidence I face
I seem to see myself as free while these shackles stay in place
I hope they hide the key don't release me until I learn to give respect
Just keep me away don't let me out until I sit here and reflect
Don't wait too long, I know I'll never have it all
I must release myself regardless of the indignity
Where do I belong? I said I never needed a hand
But now I see myself as others see my inhumanity
