Death ensued, body blue, and they lay him down
Saturday at two, sad view, hear them wailing sounds
It's a day of mourning instead of celebration
Cancel plans of the morning, since he's dead, no graduation
This could have been true for me if grace had not intervened and kept me afloat
No one goes to school thinking you'll bleed and you'll die
The Undergrad Experiment nearly proved to be my demise
But I rediscovered the truth after being steeped in a lie
Blind eyes witness pretty views when they start seeing the sky

Brain food and no truth is a tasteless bowl
What I mean is that a well-fed mind could still have a starving soul
These rock-hard hearts need the gospel carved in stone
Reached the end of the experiment
You know, when they analyse the data and draw conclusions
And ideas jump into journals
I succumbed to a silly science
Making myself both researcher and test subject
I was the man in the white coat as well as da tingz in da test tube
I was the man in the hazmat as well as the standard lab rat
But I'm so thankful for the God of Sir Isaac Newton
The God who grabs us as we approach the ground in of the grip of gravity
I may not have made it to my BA Law or LLB graduation
If it weren't for God neutralizing the acid that tore through my existence because of an experiment gone wrong

But thankfully this undergrad student is going to graduate
Celebration for LLB degree come grab a plate
Drink some Coke and have some cake
While we're at it, let's enjoy the prodigal son's fattened steak
So as I type out this rhyming research report
My conclusion is that a godless heart thrown into a beaker of romance explodes
Indeed, I conducted the test and that happened inside in my chest
