Louise was fun we were two of a kind
Once in a while you stumble upon a few
Our friendship just grew and grew

Soon after entered Ken
They seemed the perfect couple right up to the end
Behind their door such terrifying horror
He abused her terribly I found her, on the floor

She was my best friend
Talked and talked till the hours grew dim
She and I shopped till we dropped
Sipped coffee non stop

Legalities incarcerated Ken
She felt a lot of shame and chagrin
The kind simple lady became a little shady
Sadly, I haven't seen Louise lately

Here say she's in a wooded area north of Cavan
Little run down lonesome cabin
Smokes a pipe a gray haired fright
Stays awake crying all through the night

She used to be my best friend
Talked and talked till the hours grew dim
She and I used to shop till we dropped
Sipped coffee non stop

Drove up there with my favourite coffee cup
Had to find Louise to see what was up
Too many months had gone on in-between

Sitting on the porch some old lady looked a mess
I inquired of Louise then I saw such tenderness

To free her from this life and to make it cease

She was still my best friend

She and I shopped till we dropped, sipped coffee, non stop

Couple years later in the mail I got a letter 
From Louise saying she was a lot better
Two little girls with ribbons and curls
c handsome husband who made her heart twirl

Now we gib and we gab at last
Trying not to touch on her turmoil past
She made a new life you see, conquered tradgedy
Says, she owes it all to me

She'll always be my best friend
Take and talk 'til the hours grow dim
She and I still shop till we drop sip coffee, non stop.
