The fourth thursday of november, it's on the day before
A crazy day on black friday people bum rush the stores
It started way back in 1623 as a special church service not a modern day feast
They were giving thanks for rain that ended a drought
But even if we don't remember what it used to be about
Mainly its a way people in the usa
To express how grateful that we are for living everyday

Mash potatoes gravy pumpkin pie and pecan
Friendsgiving so disorganized no one knows their roles
So you end up with no turkey but three green bean casseroles
Watching football on the couch as your family's passin' out
But gratitude and love is what it's really about
Our history is complicated but we're celebrating
The world we want to live in - cuz it's thanks that we're giving!
