Can I tell you that I used to think I knew all that there was to know
And I feared the Lord would bore and disappoint me if I looked too close
But a song said there is more, that I'd been only on the shore
Show me Lord

Well one day in a classroom after giving a great big test
A book of human anatomy sat upon a student's desk
I don't know why I looked inside
But what I saw left me slack-jawed and wide-eyed
I saw microscopic images of blood cells, red and white
I saw things that could never be examined by the naked eye
I had never seen that close things like fingernails and bones
But I saw God exalted so high that I froze

There is more, much more than our minds ever imagined
Maybe God is much bigger than I believed He was
And to think, I once thought all the praise songs had been written
I'm delighted to discover I was wrong
We will always find new things to praise Him for
So there will always be new songs

Try and list out all the creatures you can think of, both the great and small
And not a single little sparrow goes unnoticed by Him when it falls
And did you know it says right there He has numbered every hair
Maybe I should up the ante on my prayers

'Cause there is more, much more than our minds ever imagined
Maybe God is much bigger than I believed He was
And to think, I once thought all the praise songs had been written
I'm delighted to discover I was wrong
We will always find new things to praise Him for
So there will always be new songs

And as big as our world is, it could not hold
The songbooks praising everything he has done
I suppose

There are circumstances in my life that I would leave out if I could
But I know His ways are higher and He'll use all of it for my good
There's so much I don't understand, but I'll grab His giant hand
And grin up at One much wiser than I am
