Some days I can hardly breathe
Mind swimming in anxiety
I look at you I can see you feel it too

If we could just get a bit of rest
A few days to catch our breath
I'm sure that we can make it through

Sometimes I dream that we are
Newlyweds, barely 23
Driving out of town for a 3 day weekend
Just enough money in the bank to make it home
Nothing to do and nowhere to be
No deadlines or responsibilities
Just you and me girl maybe we can buy some time
And maybe we can slow things down for just a little while
And maybe we can stay right here for just a little while

We've come through storms to see the sun
Lived through battles we have won
And I guess there's more to come

Broken bones and broken seams
Broken hearts and broken dreams
Some days it's difficult to bear

Some days I dream that we are

6 kids in between us on a church pew
And I think, when did time go by so fast
And although sometimes I daydream
I wouldn't do anything differently
We've got everything we needed and even more

And so I guess we better
Check the kids out and I'll call in sick
Hit the road for a 3 day weekend
We've got money in the bank that we can spare
Drowning in responsibilities
But I can make it if you're beside me girl
Just for the weekend maybe we can buy some time
