War shot cross the border like a canon ball
On the day that we were to be married.
The only light we'd see that day were through bullet holes
Left on the chest of my sweet Marie.

They'd keep me alive inside their war camps
Force feeding me rations I wouldn't eat.
'Cause starving gave my brain a chain reaction,
Hallucinations of her waiting for me.

My eyes wide her veil in white
A gown gives off the light like she's my savior.
And down the smokey aisle
I see my bride
We'll share our vows inside of the gas chamber

I awoke and smiled right at the Nazi guards.
These prisoners now guests at our wedding.
Today I'd see inside the Chapel of Exhaust
But they took all my cell mates and let me be
Those engines ran and from the door trim bled a fog.
I convinced myself their screams was just cheering.
Some mist escaped and took the shape of my sweet doll.
I yelled to her "please keep waiting"

After a month the man who pulled the trigger
opened up the gates and let me leave.
I tried to fight my way back through, they laughed because they knew
their death machine was my only chance at peace.
Then I went back to where her body fell
longer for our chamber with such grief.
Then I smiled when I found my wedding attire:
A rope around my neck and an old oak tree.
