Yesterday's reflection
Of times that have gone by
Show me now, a field to plow
And I'll be the catcher in the rye
The Mirror reminds me
Of who I used to be
And all the time I used to have left
That I've been trading for memories
Well I Need some sleep but not to dream
I sing to myself while I outrun the machine
The beast of long ago that's been hiding
Has been looking for me and could soon be arriving

Monday morning, moving slow
From a weekend that was too strong
But I've been waiting patiently
I knew that it would take this long,
Is this summertime?
Or a winter hallucination
Future or past, my clairvoyance
Can't tell in this situation.
But I Need some sleep but not to dream
Chasing down sheep, I'm the Shepard in green
Nothing that I want or need, but
Earth, water, and light for my seed.

Lies are poison,
The truth is fire,
Trying to be simple man,
And pass on what inspires me
As what I see in front of me,
Becomes what I've seen,
Instantly and constantly, hoping
For the words to say what I mean.
