It started off as a sunny day
Peaceful and calm with no need to pray
Black clouds circled and changed  the course
The hull of our  ship we had to reenforce
Took on water we started to sink
Up to our waist before you could blink
And as we braced to take a final breath
I embraced the cold hand offered by death
