As I recall we were all just sitting and talking circles when I noticed things were starting to get weird
For it seemed to me that everything around us had a purpose, yet our own was still remarkably unclear

For they had shrunk me down to size and I became preoccupied with the colors of the animals

They could have been pooches from the circus but they too served a purpose, we were gathered around like cows In a herd
Oh but who would ever paint their doggies blue? Given the state of the world outside it seemed quite absurd
I couldn't stomach what I had chewed, next thing you know we were all just doin like the cows do

Little provider's getting lost in the skies too, and little brothers were feeling a little blue
Little sister was hanging out thinking it was a little underwhelming when she caught the flu
Little flames in the fire were dancing all the while as I was playing guitar with big Drew
We talked about life on the riverside and spent some time watching the grass as it grew

Hoo dee hoo and little hey diddle diddle the cat could sure fiddle but the cow jumped over the moon, ahh yeah
The little doggies were laughing at the sight of it, what a ridiculous thing for a cow to do
But he stole the whole show, next thing you know we were all just doing like the cows do

We were searching for a hot spot to stop and take root somewhere the fungus hadn't already grown
The ground beneath our feet provided for us a beat to march to wherever we were going
We were bullshittin', halfwittin', chickenpickin', fingerlickin', making our way across the bridge
But we stopped in the middle when we realized we didn't really care what was at the other end, and we checked in

Just like a little fish gets eaten by a bigger fish, someday we'll all be somebody's food
We spend our whole lives trying to justify dying but I guess we're all just doing like the cows do
