COMMENTATOR 1:
Welcome back to another glorious Sunday here at Cobra Stadium, where we see yet another meeting of the Tornados and Cincinnati Spears. Last season these two teams were on fire, and have continued their excellent form into the new season. As we all know, things can get …a little hot down on the field.

COMMENTATOR 2:
Ha ha! It sure can. This rivalry goes back years, Tom. There’s gonna be plenty of high intensity action, big plays and some serious takedowns in this one!

COMMENTATOR 1:
That’s right, Reggie. And each team has something to prove here today. Both teams are unchanged from the previous match, so both come into this game full of confidence and fire!

The coin toss is won by the Tornados and they have chosen to receive.

We get underway as Bailey drives it deep into Washington’s territory. King catches it comfortably and begins his return, but he is swamped and brought down at the 15-yard line.

COMMENTATOR 2:
Bailey is a six-year veteran, and has been solid for the Spears ever since he came over from Wisconsin.

COMMENTATOR 1:
He is just so consistent, Reg. I just can’t remember the last time he had a bad game; just so focused, takes up great positions on the field and has this calmness about him.

OK, into the first play of the game, Sampson pulls back into the shotgun, across comes Lindstrom, but Richard Wagner manages to hold him back. Sampson has time, gets the throwaway inside to the tight end, Mercedes Powell, who’s held up straight away, but pushes through and gains a yard after the catch, comes down at the 20-yard line.

COMMENTATOR 2:
Number 63 Lindstrom, from Boston College, has had a great year, Tom. Averaging two and a half sacks a game. Wagner did a great job holding him back there – that wasn’t easy.

COMMENTATOR 1:
Second down and five at the Washington 20-yard line. 14:10 remaining in the quarter. The clock’s ticking down, and Corey Blake gets the snap away, Sampson pulls back and goes to throw, no, hands off to Benkert, spots a hole and Aaron Benkert stiff arms Harrow – 64. Benkert breaks his second tackle, fighting for every inch, and is brought down by Williams, and it’s a first down!

COMMENTATOR 2:
Moving those chains for Washington. They really struggled on this down the last time they played

COMMENTATOR 1:
First and ten from the Washington 28-yard line, play action fake, Sampson remains in the pocket, Lindstrom breaks through the O-Line, Sampson’s got nowhere to go, Wagner is reaching and down goes Sampson!

COMMENTATOR 2:
Here he goes Tom, Sack number one. We are only in the first quarter and he’s already bringing the pain.

COMMENTATOR 1:
That’s right, Reg. Sampson has taken his fair share of hits this year, and has shown his experience by not letting them rattle him.

COMMENTATOR 2:
The Tornados need to keep Lindstrom at bay so Sampson can do his thing.

COMMENTATOR 1:
Sampson lines up in the shotgun position, the play’s underway. Valdes Jones runs an out, catches the bullet to his chest, makes the outside line back Christian Harrow miss. Ka’dar McGary comes in from the left, and Jones shakes the tackle at the Tornado’s 40. A big hole opens up, and Raven Davidson is moving to take his shot, but Jones slips by him and has an empty back field, Amos is chasing him down, but Jones is steaming away! To the 20, to the ten! Can he go the distance? Touch down! Washington Tornados!

COMMENTATOR 2:
He really turned on the jets: he just outruns everybody! To be 14llbs and be that fast? It’s insane. He works so so hard on that aspect of his game.

COMMENTATOR 1:
What a great play design. You gotta give it to the offensive co-ordinator Clark Allen.

COMMENTATOR 2:
To get your big plays, you gotta have guys working downfield.

COMMENTATOR 1:
I am still blown away by the breakaway speed of the rookie 83, Valdes Jones.
Crosby Allen lines up for the kick, and it’s good.

COMMENTATOR 2:
Allen knocks the point after, straight through the uprights, putting the Tornados up by seven.

COMMENTATOR 1:
What a great start to the game for Washington. Totally caught the Spears off-guard with that early touchdown.

(Pause)

Washington sends out their punt team and Scott gets the kick away; it’s deep. Treadwell has an easy catch, and takes a knee.

COMMENTATOR 2:
Cincinnati now get a chance to retaliate.

COMMENTATOR 1:
First and ten from the Cincinnati Spears’ 20-yard line, courtesy of Treadwell’s knee. Tornados line up in the blitz, Ecklestein sees this, audibles, and we see Scantling shift from the left position to just outside number 19 David Hirst. Ecklestein calls, and Jayden Gary steps in. Yellow flags fly in, the defence end causes a penalty on their first defensive play of the game.

COMMENTATOR 2:
It’s offside. Elijah Ecklestein did a great job at selling the snap.

COMMENTATOR 1:
That’s right, it’s a five-yard penalty, and first down for the Spears at the Cincinnati 25-yard line.

COMMENTATOR 2:
Bradbury with a great throw, Sanchez wide open, then lost his balance at the final moment. The Spears, really turning on the heat now.
