Rosie's mother and father apparently use a unique style of parenting
Every act they take and rule they make us out of fear of her soul perishing
They never ever let her make any friends

Her peers at school are planning attacks
They comment on her hair and how she acts
Nah, they ain't gonna hurt her- they'll just make a mess - flip her cafe tray onto her chest
They say she's plain, she should take her clothes off
Gave her the nickname Rosie the Robot, and she asks god 
Why it's her they're after and tells him the worst part is their laughter

At sixteen Rosie wished to be dead
Took her father's gun to the shed
Held it to her head, but she never shot cause it was then that she had a thought
If I'm completely over the earth, I'll take this moment to be rebirthed
She left the shed, she entered the kitchen with a gun in her hand and brand new intentions

Broke her mother's jaw
So she'd stop bitchin'
Found her sleeping pa
Got his attention
He tried to run
She shot him with his own gun
Took the rest of his pieces and 
She went on the run

She was either feeling kinda gracious or she was a bad aim because she only shot her dad in the leg
He should be alright
Then she went in her mom's bedroom and found her mother's purse and took out the cigarettes and keys
But then put them back in the purse and decided to take the whole purse instead

Rosie was done feeling embarrassing
Took her dad's wallet to help take care of things 
Drove of to buy some cans of kerosene
To burn down everything she found disparaging
She bought some clothes that at home wouldn't pass
Wearing red lipstick on her embargo
And drove to school in time for her third class
Resembling a Kissin' Kate Barlow and in the parking lot she sat
Fingering her father's fat, sitting on the edge of purpose, wondering why she's feeling nervous

If I'm completely over the earth, then why can't I embrace my curse?
She left the school with no direction and parked her car in the intersection

Soon the traffic stopped
On all sides around her
Folks got out their cars
Started to surround her

A man yelled "Run!" When he saw that she had guns
She saw an opening on the sidewalk ramp and through the gap she spun

Drove down the sidewalk of Main Street in the middle of the day
Past pedestrians diving to get out of her way
Toward the underpass of second street she steers
Sirens appear, cherries she hear in her rear view mirror

Rosie didn't give a f*ck that the cops were chasing her
She'd been caged up her whole life, it was nice to have a bit of a thrill
Plus she had a little somethin' in her back pocket
She knew this detour she used to take home from school, it was made out of dirt, well, it was a dirt road
The cops didn't wanna risk damaging their cop cars and all that fucking shit 
So she took that dirt road and drove off into the motherfucking sunset
