I poured my time into a plastic cup
And threw it out the window in a parking lot
Never in a moving car anyway
Discard the day

Breaking out the golden cage by Taking all gold out of play
Write myself a happy ending
Tearing out the page
I go
Here I go running off the stage
I go
Here I go

I thought my pain was valid
Till I felt the resistance
It doesn't suffer fools
Break the rules of my existence
I thought my pain was valid
Till I saw across the distance
I broke the bridge in two
Break the rules of my existence
Tell me

Where the hell did I go wrong
Keeping my heart locked up so long
Where the hell did I go wrong
Keeping my heart locked up so long

I try to self-destruct, but leave myself intact
I like to dream and I'm not an insomniac
Happy wasn't on the table anyway
Discard the day

Breaking out the golden cage by
Taking all gold out of play
Write myself a happy ending
Tearing out the page
I go
Here I go running off the stage
I go
Here I go

I thought my pain was valid
Till I felt the resistance
It doesn't suffer fools
Break the rules of my existence
I thought my pain was valid
Till I saw across the distance
I broke the bridge in two
Break the rules of my existence
Tell me

Where the hell did I go wrong
Keeping my heart locked up so long
Where the hell did I go wrong
Keeping my heart locked up so long

I'm safe and I am sound
Leave me bound
Leave now
I'm tame and anchored down
Leave me bound
Leave now
I'm safe and I am sound
Leave me bound
Leave now
I'm tame and anchored down
Leave me bound
Leave now

I thought my pain was valid
Till I felt the resistance
It doesn't suffer fools
Break the rules of my existence
I thought my pain was valid
Till I saw across the distance
I broke the bridge in two
Break the rules of my existence
Tell me

Where the hell did I go wrong
Keeping my heart locked up so long
Where the hell did I go wrong
Keeping my heart locked up so long
