Triangle Fire

The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, on Saturday, March 25, 1911, was the deadliest industrial disaster in the history of the city, and one of the deadliest in U.S. history. The fire caused the deaths of 146 garment workers – 123 women and girls and 23 men – who died from the fire, smoke inhalation, falling, or jumping to their deaths. Most of the victims were recent Italian or Jewish immigrant women and girls aged 14 to 23; of the victims whose ages are known, the oldest victim was 43-year-old Providenza Panno, and the youngest were 14-year-olds Kate Leone and Rosaria "Sara" Maltese. The factory was located on the 8th, 9th, and 10th floors of the Asch Building, which had been built in 1901. We were living in a shadow
That was clouded by a meadow
And I know the flowers there were never real
And I know amongst the people
There are those who carry evil
And I know I'll be just like them if I leave alone
But I faced inconsistencies
See that I was never quite like them
No I was never quite like them
Though I had thought again

So I, the villain
Will take all these powdered hearts with me, oh
And die for killing the love and all their dreams
Oh I the villain
Will take all these powdered hears with me, oh
And die for killing the love and all their dreams

Well I was bitten by the sorrow
I'll be lonelier tomorrow
But for now I've got a different mask to wear
See, every hero needs a villain
And I'll catch them while they're chilling
And then everyone out there will know that name
But I faced inconsistencies
See that I could never be like them
No I could never be like them
Though I had thought again

So I, the villain
Will take all these powdered hearts with me, oh
And die for killing the love and all their dreams
Oh I the villain
Will take all these powdered hearts with me, oh
And die for killing the love and all their dreams

I love the happy people
Cause unhappy people love the happy people
I love the happy people
Cause unhappy people drink the happy water, too
I love the happy people cause unhappy people
Love the happy people
I love the happy people
Cause unhappy people
Love the happy people
Love
