Man that skyline's pretty
Buildings erected through the clouds
I can't see that high
Not like my home town
Where it's easy to get around
The people are crazy
They all complain
And the time creeps by

Where the wind pulls you in
This big city's my new friend

And disappear into my sight
For as far as the eye can see

I'd never been to such a place
Where concrete goes for days and days
I walked for hours willingly
To absorb the pace
City blocks stretched out like fields
To ride the "L" was so surreal
People read the tourist sign
In my wide eyes

I'd never seen snowfall

The streets are just a stage

Tried to catch them on my tongue
Got dizzy staring at the sun
I need a home away from home
