It didn't happen how i wanted it
Not even close, i'm being honest
I didn't want to write this song
I didn't want to have to make that promise
But some things in life just ask
While other ones demand your help
Cause some people have all the problems, while others have all the wealth
Which often times don't seem to satisfy when taking all you want
Some say that's just life, it's a normal part of growing up
But some don't grow up and never will
Won't own enough
A mil, don't adorn a throne enough
There'll be reaping in the killing fields when the kids don't sow enough
And yet it's all designed to keep you down, to count you out
Yet keep you around
Cause even a king ain't shit when there ain't no one else there to adore your crown
And prison cells can grow up around you
And before you know it, you're doing time
But it literal, just a metaphor
A concept used to control your mind
In time, Bibles become weapons
And crosses used to crucify
And so called evangelists will turn militant and take the lives of both you and i
Cause we're all soldiers with different wars to wage and different scores to settle
Some fight to save lives while others fight to win medals

Until the very end
Or death or something we confess
They take our breath away
Subtley til nothings left
We're catching bullets in our heads
And though our tunng's as thick as bricks
We lick the wounds yet lack the words to make emotions stick

I'm no king
Stuck inside a beautiful mind where the events of my life are bad dreams
And it really seems
I didn't, change a thing
Or benefitted a cause i claimed meant everything
I'm no hero
Those don't exist
One only needs to look around to be convinced of this
I'm no villain
I was only too scared to take
A first step
Forewarned, still unprepared to make change
That was always destined to come
It's our fault we didn't specified the kind that we want
I'm not God
I can only speak for me
My life happened and i handled it quite sheepishly
It's kinda sad thinking back to the slight in which we'd thought
That life was a permanent fight that'd never stop
On second thought
We followed men who only sought
War and when the world spoke out
We only got
More got alot more got a lot more
And after while we forgot what we fought for
Made peace, but always had the wrong reasons and angles
Smart bombed busy streets star spangled
Entangled our alliances
Appliance is the new god
Truth is relative depends where you get your noose (news) from
Cause when facing your own end
It helps to think you meant something to someone
Please, tell me that i meant something to someone
And i'll continue to sustain
Guilt
It's heavy on the forefront of my brain
I've felt
This way for too long
How you supposed to fight back with the tide's so strong
Guess you're not
Fast-track back to apathy
A long road
Wonder if
When i am gone will i be missed
Tthis looks like it's the end of me
Last words: thank you, i love you, i'm sorry

I've been dreaming of my past
I get asked now and then what i love
LIFE
Yet the rest of it is tough
Just because a few thought that life was too pretty
Now we gots have war for them bored to keep living
Just like that some we were taught to hide feelings
Tying yellow ribbons
We wanted you to stop killing
But "stop killing" ain't found on ballot - slips
So a lot of not living's what we were bound to get
The sound of it was the same of marching out of sync
The battle drum was nearing and it made my spirit weak
It's a clear defeat when we're too full of fear to speak
The shepherds act sheepish and the rest are all asleep
Boys don't cry
And girls don't turn activists
Leaders don't lie or make problems that we have to fix
No
When lies turn to truth, what will happen?
And who do we become when instincts turn reaction?
We reaped what we sowed so we knew what came next
Some chose to give up
I guess they had no choice left
Time's up
Now tell me what we gonna do?
It's been too long now with no one left to look up to
Invention meets consequence
Not what we intended
Aguilty conscience when it's revealed what we defended
My time has ended
But still i promise you my friend
That comes what may i'm here until the very end
