So it's ten years later and this is how it ends I can't enjoy the things I used to, I guess I'll never see my friends again I'm moving on, but memories are breaking my heart A part of me may never mend. I'll never see the sun ascend again So hold your breath, and count to ten To waste my time on reminiscing would write a story where the ending is always missing So when it all faded out and everything had settled down We saw the curtains were closing, but found ourselves in the crowd I wish the long nights lasted, wish that we had figured out That we were slowly getting older Nothing lasted forever until now My last semester was a time for me to grieve A girl brushed red had made me blue-er than you ever would believe And looking back it all seemed fine, but making contact with the eyes was not my favorite thing Or holding on to anyone or anything Then with loose feet, we made our way to making out Deceived by the illegal things and the parties at Amanda's house We planned on finding ourselves, but never planned on our friends sticking around And when it all faded out and everything had settled down We saw the curtains were closing, and made our way from the crowd I wish the long nights lasted, wish that we had figured out That we were slowly getting older, and we were slowly going nowhere If we were slowly getting older, at least we're going together
