And not the tree that it's become
We refuse to acknowledge that we ourselves did nothing to attempt to prevent the growth
Trapped in the shade that we so utterly hate we find a way to pimp it to our needs
Which leads into false comfortabity 
Maybe this is how it's suppose to be
Maybe this is how it always will be
So we use it to our benefit and become hypocrites 
When somebody else hides behind the same shade we cover ourselves in
Meanwhile the tree continues to grow exponentially 
Granted the tree does have benefits
It's familiar
It's reliable
It's something we couldn't imagine being without
Having been with it since the dawn of time of time itself
Have we forgotten what exists beyond the leaves
True freedom
In a world where no two things are the same 
How can we expect somebody else to take initiative towards our own mindset
Why is it fair to pass the blame
If the work needs to be done why are we waiting on each other to start
I speak for everybody apart of Team Maitre 
When I say we believe actions always speak louder than words
The tree representing any form of hate on this Earth
One smile, one gesture, one chore at a time
We are swinging our axes away every single day
In public and private with or without witnesses
We lead by example
And I've been witness to some of the amazing repercussions that our actions have had
We've showed bigots how to understand by letting them know they're understood
We've saved lives by showing them how we saved our own
And just by the simple act of killing everybody
With kindness our numbers will grow exponentially as well
And the more positivity we spread
The more we refuse to abide to the norm
The more we continue to fight without fighting
The less of that tree will be left when we leave
Hate will not end in my lifetime
Nor my children's
Nor my children's children
But it will one day
Meanwhile in the present we are currently living through a scientific renaissance 
The world is more connected than ever
Years ago A study from some big school 
With some big professor showed that it takes approximately 6 handshakes
One being from you to a stranger, then that stranger to another
To another, etc etc to link back and make a connection with somebody you know
Understanding this, and applying that logic to the amazing alternate reality deemed as the internet 
I believe it truly is possible to spread this idea to the world
Which brings me to the black mirror theory
That once you put it in their hands it's out of yours
Though you will have your followers who agree
They wont always receive your actions as depicted
They will be twisted and misconstrued like everything in this world is
But for everybody that hated Kaepernick
There was always another that would die for him
And as long as your intentions are true
And your heart is filled with love
And you understand that you will not always be understood
You have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain
Because once that tree is gone
It won't grow back
And it's our time to shine
