Christopher Marlowe

Christopher Marlowe, also known as Kit Marlowe (; baptised 26 February 1564 – 30 May 1593), was an English playwright, poet and translator of the Elizabethan era. Marlowe is among the most famous of the Elizabethan playwrights. Based upon the "many imitations" of his play Tamburlaine, modern scholars consider him to have been the foremost dramatist in London in the years just before his mysterious early death. Some scholars also believe that he greatly influenced William Shakespeare, who was baptised in the same year as Marlowe and later succeeded him as the pre-eminent Elizabethan playwright. Marlowe was the first to achieve critical reputation for his use of blank verse, which became the standard for the era. His plays are distinguished by their overreachin… more »

Tend you in the cradle of mercy
Playing with your men you look so thirsty
Protest we've got an intimacy
Burn your clothes I am a prophecy
Heartstring plays suspended chords
Love the way you move you look so nice your feet so sore
Will you be my fountain light
Give you the drug that ends the night

Young and old
I'll come for you I'll come for you
Weak and cold
I'd comfort you I'd comfort you
You own the debt you owe
I'll come for you I'll come for you
My house is not a home
I'll be there honey

Playing Cassandra gets you nowhere
You are my Artemis Agrotera
I'll be your Actaeon and see you bathing
You can turn me into prey

Playing dumb
I'll come for you I'll come for you
Every broken crumb
I'd comfort you I'd comfort you
You are beautiful
I'll come for you I'll come for you
But you are mutable
I'll be there honey

Even when your wrappings thin
Mindful saints will keep you in
When your heart is full of lead
Keep your cross around your head
Statuary sing
My Pieta my diamond ring
You will be my cherry blossom queen
And I will make you into everything

Young and old
I'll come for you I'll come for you
Weak and cold
I comfort you I comfort you
You own the debt you owe
I'll come for you I'll come for you
My house is not a home
I'll be there honey

Playing dumb
I'll come for you I'll come for you
Every broken crumb
I'd comfort you I'd comfort you
You are beautiful
I'll come for you I'll come for you
But you are mutable
I'll be there honey
