Strained lessons i've plagued by depression
Time to let it go i'll spill it all in my confession

Problem is my actions they speak louder than words
Were only human so we all stray

This morning i woke up saw a light
And that light came shining through
Never felt a light so bright 
It came in and filled my room

The light showed me that failure was part of the road 
Cos i learnt more from failing truth be told 
I captained my own ship navigated seas's safely 
Stormy waters came they all jumped ship to safety 
I went down sinking my hands tied to the helm
Thought i went from queens to brooklyn the way i was taking the L 
I get taken to heights and then i plummet 
Caterpillars they flourish and now they make me sick to my stomach
And these voices in my head they say confusing shit 
So i look toward the light because im losing it

When the light shines bright im feeling it 
Rejection hit me bad didn't know how to deal with it 
I smile to hide my feelings and brave it 
Mental slaughter cos like a hoarder i just save it 
In the hard drive of my soul and i'm so disconnected 
They all talk reckless all i do is bite my tongue like epileptics
An episode the divine directed and i can't switch off or exit 
Cos this is real life not netflix 
I'm on some next shit saw the light embraced it 
Made it easier accept what i'm faced with

One time i saw the light at work it left me vacant 
A car hit this kid his soul was taken
His head underneath my arm i couldn't stop shaking 
But his time had come so who was i to save him 
I looked into his eyes i saw a piece of fear 
But he must have seen the light cos i saw peace was near
Thoughts of life and death controlling me 
For the next couple months all i did was cry uncontrollably 
So be thankful when you take that breath
You never know when that light will come as light or death
