Lawd, Lawd, Lawd have mercy

Father forgive me for all of my sins
Never been one to fake or pretend
Here we go again, doors are openin
Rolls a ghost within, chains is heavy, No hope again
I hang, don't rope me in
I'm in enough shit on my own
Crown heavy, it's gold
Crowd crazy, it's Rome
You walk the streets, I walk the earth
Talk is cheap when you talk to her
Rose gold, that's yellow stones
Ain't no brick roads or red shoes
Earn your heart, no silver spoon
Takes a lot of courage to step with lions
Belly of the beast, I suggest tryin
Coming correct with the depth that I am
Or die trying, trying to do what I did
Is it deathly quiet or is it just silence
Maneuver with people to stop the violence
Politicking with Steve to create jobs
Come up is real like the iPod
Or Akon in Africa
Keep it lit boy, I ain't mad at cha
Created time on my calendar
To make time
They say great minds they think alike
What they don't say is they eat alike
They sleep alike and they speak alike
Yet we post and tweet cause we need a like
They teacher won't teach me right
So I learned this on my own
Crown heavy, it's gold
Crowd crazy, it's Rome
Call me crazy when I roam the earth
I know what my people worth
I don't play, it ain't a game
You gotta work on your skills nigga
House onna hill, or house inna field
You work like slaves, you'se still niggas
How you figga, I'm a little bigger
You never too rich to be a killa
Consider the truth when I tell it to you
Cant destroy the house with the master's tools
It's masterful that a class or two
Will make privilege seem more natural
Earn an A and you still a slave
Earn a wage and you still a slave
I battle my conscience every day
Cause being ignorant seems to pay
Flip a brick or flip a page
I'll see the world on my own
Crown heavy, it's gold
Crowd crazy, it's Rome
