I used to want love but love hate
F*ck around for f*ck's sake
But frustrate finding that one mate
My luck late
So I just wait, bump tapes
Sunk straight in the front seat and puff grapes
Louder than bus brakes
I'm dumb baked, feeling my skin was like reading braille
And all the street lights were leaving trails
As I cruise down memory lane dodging a DUI
I wouldn't be surprised
If I got pulled over by one of my deeper tales
Well look at that, sirens flashing in my rear view
Where do I steer to?
It wasn't long before I gave in
Put down my window it's amazing
Cop was like age 10
Looked in his eyes and saw pain, saw rain
Cut me deep when I saw chains
I felt what he felt quick
Knew everything he knew and dealt what he's dealt with
Before you know it, it was i who was the victim of the bottle
Prisoner of sorrow, not worried bout the system of tomorrow
Visions of him sitting in the kitchen sipping I wanted to kill him while he swallowed
But that's my brothers pops, only one he got
I snapped back like strapped caps, the cop was gone
I backtracked my last acts, what block I'm on?
Guessing I blacked out, entered a bad route
Searching for an exit to pass now, I ask how
100 on the dash, hoping I don't crash
2 AM, time going by so fast
Now I laugh at what happened tryna shake it off
So I grab the bag of the purple haze and I blaze it all
I see an exit 10 miles straight ahead of me
Finally I get to leave this highway of memory

On the run from the narcs and cops
I pulled up to a darker spot
It was a parking lot
Of this old-fashioned barber shop
Across the street from a bar that got
Abandoned vibes, and a letter hanging by the end of its name
It was really Janet but if you read it was Jane
I'm getting a strange feeling but I head there anyway
With all this going on I could use some henny straight
As I got closer
Heard a lot of laughter that said they were not sober
Walked over and opened the door, suddenly the party stopped
An abrupt silence got me in an awkward spot
It was so quiet, I could hear my heart just drop
Bunch of niggas staring at me like I'm hard to watch
As if I was foreign, I ignored em, went to bartender
Thought it would be Janet, but a man is, at the bar center
Had his back turned while he cleaned around the counter
Washing glass, said he never seen an out of towner
Started talking like he knew me, kept talking like I gave a shit
Without looking back he said I was the same age as him
Never met his pops, murdered when he was 5 months
Too young to figure death so he didn't cry once
I began to notice that he's talking bout my life
So I yelled out "how long you been stalking me tonight"
That's when he turned around and showed face
No way
Can't believe in what I'm seeing, telling brain don't play
He was me, I was him, it was like a mirror
Feel like the end of my life is nearer, gotta fight the terror
The f*ck is going on, almost fell out from my seat
Ran as quick as Usain the day that he won the meet
Feels like a felony, my mind state an enemy
Hopped in the whip, back to this highway of memory

Regretting sexing Mary Jane, plenty is pain
Remembering things I thought wouldn't come ever again
Sheltered with shame, it was never the same
And ain't no one better to blame, I'm dead in the brain
Foot on the petal, killing flowers and medical strains
Night-sky turns to Tarantino scenes of my past
Weed got my ass tripping, feeling like a kryptonite
Blue heart, blue soul, feeling like a crip tonight
Hard grip on the wheel but I don't think my vision right
Rub my eyes, now I see that 10 year old kid in sight
I ain't tryna hit him so I skidded right
Bartender showed up out of nowhere so I swerved left
Lost control, flipping on the road, hit the dirt next
Slow. Motion. Shattered glass painted with blood
America won't give a shit
"Just another idiot tainted with drugs, acquainted with thugs"
Moments of my past in each broken glass
Watching my life flash 'fore I sleep frozen fast
I see myself puffing grapes in the front seat
Bumping tapes if I'm not mistaken it was Bun B
UGK and Outkast where 3 stacks spazzed
That's when I got pulled over and I seen that badge
Shortly after I was in a parking lot
Of this old-fashioned barber shop
Across the street from a bar that got
Abandoned vibes, and a letter hanging by the end of its name
