I woke up this morning Hearing noises I've never heard before I went to check on my mother She told me to run away, don't look back anymore I guess this is what she meant With "truth is stranger than fiction" What's for sure is just the greed of some Guy in a shirt and tie for more black gold I didn't know I was already doomed By the place where I was born Fate, god and the UN watching me through a crystal ball Where social media sadists judge my truth All these politicians telling me what to feel and think A world full of experts on classifying things Media influencing my opinion (Depending on who pays them more) How many images of bombed-out kids do we need? Stop Stop pretending that you care Less Facebook discussions and more cooperation is what we need How many of us are helping instead of criticising? I didn't know I was already doomed By the place where I was born Fate, god and the UN watching me through a crystal ball Where social media sadists judge my truth When will we finally learn? When will we finally learn? When will we finally learn... That together it's easier to prevail? When will we finally learn... That the real war is against our innerselves? Become a better person, study harder Forgive yourself and learn from your own mistakes But don't blame others for your lack of discipline There is no greater enemy than yourself Stop
