I'd like to think it's just a dream
And you're not as gone as it seems
But old, empty closets
They just don't lie

I never saw a single sign
I thought our love was doing fine
Then everything changed
God only knows why

And I'm on my own
I'm all alone now
I can't live without your love
'Cause I don't know how (I don't know how)
I'm out in the cold
My future's on hold
And the past, I can't talk about (Can't talk about)
All I know is I'm on my own now

You didn't even say goodbye
But there was a time you'd almost die
If we had to spend one night apart
Somewhere between here and there
We just let go of the love we shared
If I had known then, I could have saved my heart

But I'm on my own
I'm all alone now
I can't live without your love
'Cause I don't know how (I don't know how)
Oh, I'm out in the cold
My future's on hold
And the past, I can't talk about (Can't talk about)
All I know is I'm on my own now

Oh, God only knows why I'm on my own now
