On the first night the Blob fell in love with my mom At first sight the dawn would bring the mournin' For she never was the same again I guess this was how the end began I remember it clear, she was by the window A stain was on her dress, and a dish in her hand When a flash of light startled her eyes Her last mistake was stepping outside She wondered, "What is that glow? What in the world could it be? I'll use this stick, get it on it and get a closer look." And then she started to scream, "Get it off of me." It was burning and turning her hand into nothing And little by little it'll grow bigger and what's more Before you know it this whole town'll be killed This mass must be stopped, but I got no idea how He said, "I'm getting tired of hearing myself talk. Call the shrink, I'm a broken man." And then panic struck the local movieplex The threat of death oozed out after the mob "It's the Blob!" Now you're face to face with a friend who's been consumed Get out of the phone booth! It won't keep you safe I thought nothing would 'til I saw a snowflake And although I tried to explain no one would pay Any mind to my observation. So they attacked With fire and bombs, which kept it strong And soon I was the last one left Serves 'em right for ignoring teenage angst On the next night the Blob headed for a song Comin' from someplace dark and grownin' With a hunger not yet satisfied This will be your last night alive
