Tension you can feel between together and alone
Torn both back and forth between on the road and home

Bursts of creativity that break out in the quiet
There's a sense of balance resting somewhere in the middle
Some elusive mean between the super-sized and little
You can slip so easily from reality and dreams
Flip flop back and forth between ridiculous extremes

When  you move from black to white there're many shades of gray
Beyond the edge of certainty there's so much more to say
Between unreconciled extremes there's wisdom to be found
So when you're moving back and forth it's more than just around

Lot that you can feel between a soft and a hard touch
Many are the options between many and too much
Thousands of contingencies between what's good and bad
Many small gradations from what's happy to what's sad
Many ways we can be rich; so many to be poor
Many roads to go somewhere we've never been before
Settle in the middle. There's no need to hurry
