Drinking forty ounces
Facing the Sun
Trying to get drunk
Had to tap the shoulder of a bum
Under 21 way too young for liquor
Lectured on that by dad and mom
Cuz they found things in my school bag
They should have never found
My life wasn't too sound, juvenile
Hung around with the wrong crowd
Nothing to be proud off
Those lectures got loud
Erased that look at me now
I made them proud
My little brother was talented more smarter
He's now a father; about to have another

I remembered that time me and my friends
Cut school just to watch Jackson 5
Five of us influenced by tools
We ended up in truancy school
Friends fiend on ba-2
Tried to get me hooked
And I was like f*ck you dudes; ugh
Suspended for insubordination
This became a trend we were young men
Arrested in public; intoxicated
Teenagers; disorderly conduct
They said it took a strong man to wear pink too
I think Pink looked nice on you

I used to think Pink did look nice on you
All influenced like fools
That was the only life we knew
Kalihi, that's where I grew up
I don't want to tell you too much
Loved drinking forties and liquor
Didn't know when to stop, I threw up
Went home past my curfew
I skipped dinners some nights went straight to bed
Faced down on my stomach, and could sense my mom behind my head
Trying to sniff my breath; the next morning she would stop asking me where I went

I was never trying to cross the sunz we both children of the sun
Choose one; should have been one pride; one love; no hugs
Surrounded by drugs, killings, stabbings, shootings all of the above
Enjoy the view of paradise; don't believe those post cards
O triple C, K-P-T had corrupt cops and security guards
No bloods and I hated those homeruns
Avoided getting mobbed; going home wasn't fun
B-K's was at the bridge; waiting to used their fists
I was just hoping to get home safely
This was insane I lived in Hawaii, shit I had to do just to get home to Richard lane

Fights and riots, at night, near Mayor Rights
Teenagers having sex and doing shit in alleys
Have you seen the news lately? Nothing new going on in Kalihi
Teens still getting high on school grounds
Off intermediate narcotics
Between classes
Before the period bell sounded
Did so much stupid shit
I almost became arrogant
I was grounded by my parents
Never had perfect attendance; I just gotta be honest
School is not where I learned most my life lessons
It was through adversity I learned all of my blessings
I hated being chased by cops; I seldom did anything wrong
But it was who I hung out with and the backgrounds they came from
Celebrating a Friend's Birthday; down the street
Drive-by shootings, but they wasn't shooting directly at me
Forty-ounce bottles crushed on skulls blood spurting out
And hearing them cry in pain and agony
Before it was too late, I'm grateful the lord took that type of life away from me
