Everybody wants to be respected, everybody wants to be loved
But I don't think everybody knows, that it's harder for some of those
Who weren't born the right way to succeed
So maybe you could help the ones in need
So this is my way of standing up, and this is my way of shouting out loud
I'm not happy the way things are and we've already come so far
This is my cry for equality, and maybe for some goddamn honesty
For them to give an apology and admit their wrong

And show those who just don't understand

In God's eyes we're all sisters and brothers, they tell me I'm not like the other girls but what's wrong with the others
You're scared of what you don't understand and what subconsciously diminishes your authority and your right to command 
We judge each other cos we're judged by you, we got to do this, and wear that, all to please who? 
My clothes don't determine my consent or my detest for your education, boy, we're not here for that
It's not political or attention sought, it's our every day, it's the parking lot, the city streets, the campus walk, we pray
And look for a weapon, for a way out, looking at the ground as I start to speed up and run away
Don't wanna run away anymore
