When my free trial of Netflix ends
I'm still saved by something streaming
When everything is cancelled
And all the shelves are empty
What have we got left to do when we're all self-quarantining
Making up new words just to clarify and justify
New courses of actions
And lines that gotta rhyme

This is a shout-out

And whatever situation you might be finding yourself in
Now we have always practiced social-distancing
Got lots of flack from people who need friends and love hugging
Now no more handshakes, 3 to 6 feet, that's an order
It makes us feel good
Socially pretty normal
Locked in and tucked up on the couch with blankets spread
Echoes of coughing coming through my bedroom walls, community spread

I heard whispers that the corner shop might about to be stockin 
A shipment of bottled water and I hope they get some aspirin
For the broken toe I'm nursing 
We're all at risk for certain 
If we don't self-quarantine than is there any self-assuring
But, there is an answer
A real solid hope
Like pure solid gold
But you can't be a dope
If you don't pay attention and take things seriously
Than you're not really neighborly like you claim to be
