I’ve come to realize that the happier I become The more I reach barriers to overcome The more I see everything that I have I become angrier and overrun By the thought of how easy it is to lose all and everyone Every moment I spend trying to enjoy life’s gifts My mood shifts into reverse Brakes lock, as I begin to drift I skip into fifth as I attempt to speed out of dangerous territory Stalling as my mind becomes prey for negative predatory Invoking a new negative energy Losing that mindset is imperative to better me Otherwise my mind will become a constant preventative enemy Bad thoughts growing to an insensitive entity I see how easy it is to lose all love and sanity Everything you hold dear living within serenity If I take a backwards glance to my past finally seeing it all in clarity I see all that I once had and how I never truly noticed till I lost it People that I loved, who could have filled a locket Living close to my heart Resulting in a dopamine blast off like a rocket I only wish that I could stop it Rewind and do what I really wanted Without the fear of risking losing what I had when more was offered But I can’t, I’ve lost the docket No receipt to return life to where it was but I guess all I can do is learn my life’s lessons Show affection to those I love and cut through tension with my good intentions No exceptions Gotta fill that locket with their essence Appreciate the honor of their presence Cos you never can predict when that pendant breaks around your neck and Chokes you down to your last happy breath as you are sentenced To misery and brought close to death as your repentance Yeah You never learn till it’s taken away The things you take for granted every single waking day The little things The big things that come together and make the story you live But what happens when someone takes a page of your tale Crumbles it up and throws it into the flames And you're never able to glance upon that page again Do you feel pain Do you feel the strain on your aching brain Or do you celebrate the memories that the page contained Now if a year was a book Do you think you’d peer in and look at your future So you could change your course like a map on a computer Cos if you took that route it would lead you to a page where you were bloodied and bruised Lost and confused And at a point where you had nothing to loose Or would you live your story chapter to chapter Leave that book locked away and just let things happen as they happen Cos life without mystery is a story where the characters don’t have character Like if Romeo and Juliette lived happily ever after If life was predictable How could a person stand out Would your life be better or worse if it was planned out Could you appreciate a sprinkle of rain descend from the clouds Or the taste of a strawberry as it enters your mouth People come and go in life Family and friends But the end of one chapter is where the next one begins Your story isn’t just one book It could be seven or ten But the final paragraph of someone else’s isn’t where your story ends
