A long overdue pal

While I stayed home alone

The money’s gone time to move on
My promising career clearly behind me
How would fortune now find me

As she became more angry and frustrated
I recalled how much I hated
Yelling screaming threats I'm leaving!
And though I grew to like the extra leg room
The his and her bedroom
Made me so sad miss what we had

We're going to be just friends
Then back from burning man she seemed distracted
So strangely acted

And gradually the pieces came together
She had met Mr. Forever
