Edgar

Edgar is a commonly used English given name, from an Anglo-Saxon name Eadgar (composed of ead "rich, prosperous" and gar "spear"). Like most Anglo-Saxon names, it fell out of use by the later medieval period; it was, however, revived in the 18th century, and was popularised by its use for a character in Sir Walter Scott's The Bride of Lammermoor (1819). more »

Welcome here dear traveller
So it seems that all your travel have brought you here
Here, into te wines of my raspy tired vioce
What do I want, wish, hope for?
Well
In this one record
I want to illuminate
I want to shed a light on every forgotten spot
Covered in autumn dust
Sit back, or cook or clean or walk the dog
And listen to me
Illuminate the essentials
We mustn't forget these, they make us who we are
Listen carefully, I 'll only say it once
Or as many times as you like

Hey, it's your time

Track two: where are we from
Of course, one might lean on the factual
The womb, from whence we once came
But where we're really from
Is the place where
We became who we are today
A mix of insecurity, obsession, kindness and funk
Kids playing with matches at heart
The place might be a moment
A memory
A trauma
An ecstasy
All of these make us all up
This is where we all come from

Track three: where are we
Notice, look and see
Everything that there is
Was once made by someone
Just as sad as you may be
One day some day
We are here, in this time
Space and place
We are floating ideas and
Art waiting to be born and then
Be born again
We breathe the same air
Grow from the same dirt
This place we choose to declare our own
This is where the magic happens
This is where the show begins

Track four: what are we doing here
As long as we're here - we do
Of course, we must try to do no harm
Many have of course told you so
Money money money
Surely that's not all you're after, traveller
Surely you kiss your mother on the cheek
And hold your friend when they're filled with sorrow
Surely you know what to do
Do the essential
Kindness and grace be done
Reward shan't be expected
Yet gratitude and joy
They will find you

Track five: alone with you
You and you and you
I'm so sick of not knowing
How to reach you
How to help you
I grew fond of you, yes
Every smile line and scar
This I say to myself
In the midnight mirror
Dancing alone, giving myself a hug
All alone

Track six: happy as bamboo
It's a silly little thing
This warm and electifying feeling
Happy
Fleeting like bubbles in dangerous wind
It may not stay for long
But comes in swinging back again
Like a pendulum would
Had the pendulum been made of roses, wine and the starry night
What does any of this have to do with bamboo
You might say
And I might say - nothing
But the happiness of a bamboo is visible
It grows from this little eater i give it
And is so happily green
As if it wanted to say
Come on, smile with me
You won't regret it

Track seven: papercut razzledazzle
Aow
Damnit
Now i spilled more than diamonds
All over my papers
More than glitter or the lonely gemstones of emerald green
I spilt my darkest black gel pen ink
And gave up all hope to say how much i need it now
To tell you the truth, traveller

How do you clean up such a mess
The puddle of possible words now
Forever unsaid
How brave are you paper
You've taken in all my blood and created beautiful ruby stones
You've taken my demons and sealed them in a realm
From which there is no return
Thank you.

track eight: Winner takes the world
I feel as a poet thatvi sm obligated
To speak on this, no matter who listens
Hear me say, I believe in no ownership
We don't even really own our bodies

Or our money
Or our book
Or our time

It's all borrowed from the world
It's a generous world
Yet still an unkind winner

Track nine: Indigo blues

My pen and pencil
Since I knew how to write
Have travelled for miles andmiles
Maybe even across the whole world
Inside the writings, many new world were created
Like little perfect places, an escape
From the pain of being true

I had to
There was no other was
I bled blue tears into a yellow glass
And whispered the truth onto pages no one read
I hope they find me
Because if they do, they'll find my work
And maybe, juuuust maybe
They'll find themselves in there too
And they'll smile and my blue soul
Will finally be rewarded
And turn into strong silver

Track ten: 'Til death we do art

I know this girl
With flare and her own style
She draws and sees and photographs
All the while
Looking like an oil painting
A sight to behold
And as it be in many of these girls
The beauty she has and the art she shares
She'll never know

But the beauty will fade
It always does
But the art stays
And with a soul simillar to mine and your
Imperfect, flawed
The purity will forever remain
Encapsulated on a canvas or in a diary
Artefacts most dear, they keep our dreams
They guide our thoughts out of the woods
Where we wander to look for the next brst thing
To turn into art

track eleven: Somebody for everybody
We all know him or her
The mean lazy bus driver
Or the post lady without a pen
Exasparated by the fact we don't have a pen implantend into our palm

Even they have someone, maybe just themselves
Which is the loneliest of all lives
But people still need them
And they need people to need them
We rely on each other
We are connected
Though we have become blind to these connections
There we are
In need

And there is always somebody
Who loves somebody
Who seems unloveable

track twelve: Summer ice paradise
As summer approaches
Even if times now are uncertain
I still approach the freezer
Take out the silver bucket
I gave my mother for christmas
With a bottle of her most favorite champagne

And I fill it to the brim with ice
So that when the time comes
I'll fill up my cut glass with orange juice
And watch the untimely cubes float and die

What a metaphor for a good life
Floating, being cold, being useful
To ultimately dissolve and be gone forever

Track thirteen: Exodus
I don't pray
Though I do believe
In a tomorrow brighter
Than the yesterday before today
And so on and so forth

I do not bow down to a diety
But I know we are are all collectively
Able to allow ourselves a breath
A breath the might of a million Winds
Take it, take that breath

For me
For you
But most importantly
For all those who cannot take one Anymore

Now go, traveller
We shall meet again sometime
In near future
Until then
Please, stay safe, drink water and call Your friends and tell them what they Mean to you

It matters
It will always matter
Good-bye
