The easy, fast & fun way to learn how to sing: 30DaySinger.com

I never come to this part of the city
And I usually avoid any kind of rush and thrill
Yet I dove into this story of my own free will
And I want to share it with you before the air turns misty
Hours of wandering in the streets had lead me astray
In the unusual warmth and dampness of that gold month of May
When suddenly the sun started setting and to my right
Was a narrow and darkened street
Faintly colored crimson by a red neon light
I probably never would have found this little speakeasy
Hidden behind a little red door
At the end of a half-lit alley
But I was drawn to it quite inexplicably
So I went in
I walked down a flight of stairs
And found myself in a very loud room
With smoke filling up the air
And a tangible sense of gloom
Nobody seemed to notice me so I chose a table
One in a dark corner from where I was able
To study my surroundings
As the lights all grew dim and the curtain started rising
Standing there in front of me
Was a girl of about twenty-three
A vision or a dream
That made every man stand up and scream
Now listen, I'm not the kind of man
That tends to follow his heart
As a matter of fact I tend to stay cool-headed and
I've been that way from the start
But something 'bout the way you move just makes me want to groove
The show begins, the music's playing and I'm already sinking
As your silver sequin-covered dress started reflecting
A thousand stars among the crowd
Applauding, shouting, cheering loud
And I was mesmerized
Maybe just a little paralyzed
The haunting melody you chose to sing for me on that night
Left me in a trance but one that kinda made me feel right
Suddenly there rose in me
A blissful isolation
One that I woke up from with that big standing ovation
As you disappeared from the stage
I gradually started waking up from my daydream
Only to find myself in the company of odious men
Shaking their heads in a way that disgusted me
I immediately started making my way through this lewd crowd
Hoping to see you face to face if that was allowed
I reached an empty corridor
My footsteps echoed down the hall
As I got closer to what I knew would be my fall
I heard the faint sound of your crying
Behind a door in front of which I stood waiting
And that you opened
Don't know why I feel the need to gravitate around you
When I've heard of all the countless scandals you get dragged into
Don't know why I'd let you run me in the dirt the way you do
Still I wonder if you think of me the way I think of you
Don't know why I feel the need to gravitate around you
When I've heard of all the countless scandals you get dragged into
Don't know why I'd let you run me in the dirt the way you do
Still I wonder if you think of me the way I think of you
Oh there's sadness in your eyes
All that these dogs fed you were lies
So come jump into my car as I drive down the boulevard
Let us choose a destination, I could take you very far
Smell the smoke of my cigar
And kiss me slowly in the dark
Oh there's sadness in your eyes
All that these dogs fed you were lies
So come jump into my car as I drive down the boulevard
Let us choose a destination, I could take you so far
Inhale the smoke of my cigar
And kiss me slowly in the dark
Don't know why I feel the need to gravitate around you
When I've heard of all the countless scandals you get dragged into
Don't know why I'd let you run me in the dirt the way you do
Still I wonder if you think of me the way I think of you
Should have known that pretty girl would someday be the end of me
As I lay myself next to you, have I found my enemy
I have no regrets I'm sure somehow that this was meant to be
Still I wonder if I think of you the way you think of me
Don't know why I feel the need to gravitate around you
When I've heard of all the countless scandals you get dragged into
Don't know why I'd let you run me in the dirt the way you do
Still I wonder if you think of me the way I think of you
Drive away
Oh drive away
Run away and come with me
In my black passenger seat
And I'll wonder if I think of you the way you think of me
