Staring through the window at the world
Marking each minute to ensure

Every minute of my life

Going through meaningless motions
The emptiness of my day
Watching each grain of sand
Finding its way through the glass

There's a time and a place for living
But somehow it's never quite here
There is faith and trust in someone
Who somehow is never around

There's a will and passion somewhere
But clearly not today
There's a definite realization
That something needs to change

And so I'm counting, I'm counting the days
Time is slipping away
And I'm watching, I'm watching the race
Let tomorrow come today

I feel so helpless
So powerless to change my situation
It's like no one cares
No one even knows I exist
Most of the time I get the impression
I'm some kind of a burden to the rest of the world
I just wanna be let in, be accepted, maybe even appreciated
I tried, I really did, you know
I just feel kind of empty right now
Lonely and abandoned
Am I so terrible? - Such a freak? - I don't know...

Thoughts chase each other in circles
Find a way to break out
Out of this prison cell
I've created for myself
