I have a dream
That one day
This nation will rise up
Live out the true meaning of its creed:
We hold these truths to be self evident
That all men are created equal
I have a dream
Ahhh rest in peace Martin Luther
Showed the world to love without using no Kama Sutra
Went to the Mountain top
He said he saw the future
I bet the Lord showed him President Obama, Hallelujah
Never saw the Promised Land
'Cause he cheated on his wife
The only one to ever make it out of hell was Jesus Christ
And he's Black Moses
People was well passed hopeless
He got back focused
And tried to come up with this genius heist
Sort of peaceful, right?
Turn the other cheek style
But meanwhile
I'm getting down on my knees now
Praying 'bout my speech now
'Bout to go to sleep now
But I can't remember dreams
So I might just spit a freestyle
I still feel the spirit of The King in Memphis
My white friends probably think I'm too pretentious
In other words they recognize
I got a lot of pride
And they ain't never lied
A right delayed is a right denied
Before I get involved in anything nowadays
I have to straighten out my own position
And which is clear
I am not a racist
In any form whatsoever
I don't believe in racism
I don't believe in any for of discrimination or segregation
I believe in Islam
I am a Muslim
And there's nothing wrong with being being a Muslim
I ain't religious like a methodist
Yet I'm reading Exodus
Looking for hidden messages
On how to handle prejudice
A pessimist
Glasses of half empty beverages
Single moms and prison time to signify my heritage
Peep the rhetoric
We the people, it's deceitful
Tell me, what's the secret meaning to the phrase
All Equal
Or the Bald Eagle
All government is evil
Never forget what Adolf Hitler did in Germany was legal
By any means necessary
We won't be secondary
I'ma represent my people
Not just in February
Shout out to the legendary leader
Back to Nat Turner
Underground Railroads and mass murder
Put us on the back burner
Now they're trying to double back
So don't ask me why I voted for Obama 'cause he black
Won't admit it but its evident my mama
Was a little biased already towards President Obama
This election had many firsts
Many stories that will be told for generations
But one that's on my mind tonight is about a woman
Who cast her ballot in Atlanta
She is a lot like the others
Who stood in line to make her voice heard in this election
Except for one thing:
Ann Nixon Cooper is 106 years old
She was born just a generation passed slavery
At a time when there were no cars on the road
Or planes in the sky
When someone like her couldn't vote for two reasons:
Because she was a woman
And because of the color of her skin
And tonight
I think about all that she's seen
Throughout her century in America
The heartache and the hope
The struggle and the progress
The times we were told that we can't
People pressed on with that American creed:
Yes we can
Its funny how money change situations
Religion change minds, mass manipulation
Slaves turned indentured servants
What's emancipation
When you freely gain your freedom
You forfeit reparations
And the separation
Lies between the, lies between the
Fairy tale, the make believe
The televised programming
Commercial life, consumer life
I want I want everything
Anything less's uncivilized
Only the best we're cherishing
You cherish it, testify
Hallelujah, holla back
Holla Gucci, holla Louie, holla Prada, holla that
Holla Medicare, holla benefits, holla tax
Holla pyramids, holla aliens, holla FACTS
X marks the spot where they kills kings
As if to say, "Don't follow them"
If what I holla get me hollowed
Holla for the Heavens then
You can see me, hear me
But I'm not here, hologram
There's a real war going on outside
And every man's mind's apart of it, yea
I have a dream
