It started when I was eight years old
I wanted to be a drummer
I had natural rhythm, so I was told
But we lived upstairs in a quiet flat
My mother said no drums and that was that
So I grabbed a guitar and I started riffing
My first guitar was a cherry red Hagstrom Swede
I played with her so much it made my fingers bleed
But now I have a couple of Ibanez, a Gibson
And a Strat for those nasty bends
So that's why they named me Jack the riffer 

I'm Jack the riffer and I'm here to play for you
