Throwback to when
We’d stay up watching Star Wars
Blast Kid Cudi on the golf course
Bench the bar like it was light work
And we’d stay up on the weeknights
Argue back like it was our right
And everything was alright
So where did that go
We used to laugh and joke when problems arose
Little did we know
A few years later and we’d all be exposed
Big dreams and pimple cream
I was such a fuckin’ legend
Or so it seemed
The dumb life of an early teen
Never ever stopped to question the bigger theme

Bring me back to 8th grade
When all the fun in life still remained
When the weekend was everyday
Don’t you remember when classwork was slight
We were in the spotlight
Futures were bright
And we did it all our way
All the rules were gray
We were livin’ endless life
So how did that leave
Lookin’ back on middle school we were deceived
They told us we would achieve
And now I look around the table in disbelief
