While others wonder how their next meal's gonna come through 

It's hard to watch the world burning down when

Who know a couple black folk so they can pretend
They'll fight for their freedom, meanwhile in the end
You know how they vote and who's rights they defend
That's why they disingenuous with everything they send
Some people really care, those we do commend
But how you supposed flourish when they can't see past your skin
With every shade darker makes you lose your innocence
All because the sun, your skin's natural defense
Created melanin to protect you in a pinch
That's enough for cops to go and murder without sense
And make you live in fear for as long as you exist
