Fear to Tread, among the dead
You dosed yourself, into this bed
Syl
Here I am, the one who’s broken
Contemplating last words spoken
Days went by, I never heard a word
Til’ sorrow stopped the silence
I, fell straight to my knees
Pleading God just to save her please
I, regret every fight
Please just let her be alright
Only God knows when
You’ll wake in your bed
Will you be the same?
Will you know my name?
We were sorry lonely souls with self-destructive goals
You were drowning your woes while I was suffering in fear
Our future seemed so unclear, but love always conquers fear
Or so it seemed
I write this because I love you and I want you to stay strong
The moments you break down, I beg you just to breathe
The silence makes me suffer but please don’t get me wrong
I was here for you
And I gave you heaven
But you put me through hell
Distance did a number on you
No one could have ever saved you
From yourself, everyone else, could see
All the good you left behind
I, have a whole lot to say
Let me start with yesterday
I, spent all of it afraid
Never knowing if you were okay
Only God knows when
You’ll wake in your bed
Will you be the same?
Will you know my name?
Why was I not enough?
I guess the cravings’ rough, huh?
All the lies you sent my way, telling me everything’s okay
I thought love was here to stay, but you threw it all away
We were two young souls, incomplete and full of holes
We were so far away, but yet so close
But we made each other whole
I hope to see you soon
Wake up
Wake, up
Wake, up
Wake, up
Wake, up
Wake, up
Wake, up
Wake, up
Wake, up
Wake, up
Wake
