(Yeah, uh, listen) At the tender age of 7 his mum had flown up to heaven
His dad was a product of pills which led him to depression
Followed by aggression as he faced a heroin withdrawal
See, dad was an addict and mama didn’t wanna be involved
A house divided welcomed arguments and never ending fights
Altercations between mum and dad would keep him up all night
But the voices stopped on the dawn of the 14th of July
The last time that he heard his mama cry
His dad had had enough so he put mama back to sleep
A little bit of strychnine he had hidden up his sleeve
Poured it in her cup of coffee when she wasn’t looking
Dragged her to the bed but she started hitting and kicking
Wrapped her scarf around her neck and pulled from both ends tightly
But no matter what he did his wife would not stop fighting
So he beat her face up like a punching bag until it turned blue
Then he finished all the coffee and he killed himself too
10 years passed in a flash just an orphan
Juggling between foster agency housing because often
He was frowned upon see, he was interested in rap music
And the child care services thought he’d abuse it, but instead he used it
To channel his talent and one day become a rapper
As he wrote his rhymes in magazines and would proceed to rap them after
Rap gave him a voice, cause he wasn’t very vocal
Story of an introvert carrying a journal, it read
Hi my name is Benjamin, and I’ve lost all my sentiment
It’s been 10 years since dad killed himself and my mother Evelyn
Ive tried moving on but it’s impossible to forget them
And now I swing between orphan houses like a human pendulum
My life is like a puzzle I have trouble making friends
But I found my peace in hip hop through this rapper called Eminem
And I consider him the goat, and I wanna be just like him
I promise I’ll make this dream happen I’ll be rappin’ till the end
Signed Benjamin
3 years on he developed a unique sound
Started to attract crowds from the underground
He was bound to succeed, his talent was limitless
But his innocence faded as he lost all his vigilance
Careless he became with the fame came money
Attracted to the Benjamins which made his habits ugly
Spent it all on heroin, cocaine, LSD, molly
Until he lost his memory when he crashed into that lorry
He dozed off on the wheel under the influence in his Honda Accord
According to eye witnesses his jaw split into like 9 pieces
Left his brain severely damaged, and a punctured vocal chord
Which meant his talent couldn’t be restored
Bad habits of his dad had come back to haunt him when he thought he was free
They say the apple doesn’t fall from the tree
The subtle taste of irony is he was on his way to buy some pills that night
But the pills ended up costing him his own life
