I started happy and I can picture it all

Childhood dreams of me flying over seas
Whilst my parents started fighting repeatedly
I could sense it I could see the tension
Their separation got me seeing attention
My parents were living in different destinations
This when life taught me the art of navigation
But let me not forget to mention
I started losing it
Thinking my parents were Ludacris
I had no grip
Fighting the struggle of beating poverty and going to school was all I could see
But seeing my parents separate has been the hardest thing to me
I think the cuts are getting deeper and it's hard to keep it in me
The older I get it looks like my scars are looking right at me
It's difficult to tell you about the pain I've been through
Because I face it every day and it is painful
The struggle of not growing up with my mother
Left a whole I thought I'd fill with lovers
Again and again I saw the repacations
Losing so much I don't know what life has come to
Because losing my mom is just painful
I'm looking at life with different eyes
Growing wiser has got me to realize I'm not alone
I handle the storm because I know who is in it
With my hands high - I know I will make it
