I put your postcard in my great coat
And I ran out the door to buy shopping for two
At the checkout I just broke down
I fell down to my knees and was crying for you
Took out the postcard from my great coat
Looked for a pen and then started replying to you
It's been such a long time
Since I last saw you
And it feels like the world has now broke us in two

It's crazy now to think of us
The two of us together
But I've been thinking of you too
Maybe I could catch a bus
And travel down to Devon
It'll only take a day or two

I put my postcard in an envelope
Wrote your address on the front and returned it to you
I then walked back home and through my front door
Finally putting away all my shopping for two
