I've torn open my eyes in such a frantic attempt

If I should shovel through the clutter of the closet of time

Everything is black-and-white, there are no deceptions
Everything is absolute except the exceptions

I'm scavenging text books and reviewing old films
Avoiding the librarians suspicious of spies
I'm imitating past lives and distilling their dreams
Into the essence of a defense of defining scheme...

Along the eternal seam

I once believed in prophesy and fate
But history has whipped me into submission too late 

Celebrate the distillate and worship the new myth
Or spurn the things that you have learned and counter the drift
