Eyes open
Gray ceiling above
Gray walls closing
Reggie just feel like giving up
He's serving 15 years for 7 grams of Mary Jane
The only reason he smoking cause he lost his momma to the gang
A drive by later she laying on the pavement dead
He need to get high get these thoughts out his head
He'd go see a doctor but he don't have the money
Worse off walking out then walking in ain't that funny
This is America

Eyes open
Blue ceiling above
The world just opens up
For lil Sally cause she now the plug
She open up a weed shop
She finally got her weed spot
Selling dimes oz bows and half's
To society she wear many hats
She's a entrepreneur
She's a daring young lass
To her this is all coming so fast
She raises a glass and toasts
While her customers toke
And the black man sits in jail for a ounce
What a joke
This is America

Eyes open
White clouds above
Picket signs filling the air all hate no love
Seems every protest by a Karen or Cody
Is smooth sailing they just are caught in the moment
But when Trayvon die and the city wanna cry
The cops get called cause the people ain't white
People mad they can't walk out of they houses
But we got Children locked up and do they care I doubt it
ICE got little ones trapped up in a cage
And you got mad cause you got tired a watching Netflix all day
This is America

Eyes open
The rich are getting richer
They don't care if you're getting poorer
Less than 200 thousand
Own the same as 110 million
That's families and children
Who are skipping meals to just live
Giving all that they can give
For what?
This is America
