Fountainhead

The Fountainhead is a 1943 novel by Russian-American author Ayn Rand, her first major literary success. The novel's protagonist, Howard Roark, is an intransigent young architect who battles against conventional standards and refuses to compromise with an architectural establishment unwilling to accept innovation. Roark embodies what Rand believed to be the ideal man, and his struggle reflects Rand's belief that individualism is superior to collectivism. Roark is opposed by what he calls "second-handers", who value conformity over independence and integrity. Tell me what you gotta tell
Sell me what you gotta sell
But you can't say that you know what's best for me
Hold me up in your jail
Scold me, condemn me to Hell
But I still won't let you get the best of me

Shame, circus broke em, they're tame
Stay in whatever lane
They just do what Confucius Say
Shame, pick up your fuckin brain
You are so fuckin lame
You just do what your rulers say

Raised... on all this radio
On all this radiation I was raised to know
On all this hate...that you told me was gold
That I'm supposed to worship
Why don't you outgrow it

Show me a little bit of proof
Show me... more truth
If you expect me to give you anymore of my valuable time
Roll with me, new rhythm, new youth
Grow with me, real roots
And we can quit believin in nursery rhymes

Flame to the spark plug in your brain
Feed the sick, help the lame
They're just doing what Jesus say
Flame... crosses, flags and fake frames
Burn whoever they blame
They just do what the preachers say

Raised... on all this radio
On all this radiation I was raised to know
On all this hate...that you told me was gold
That I'm supposed to worship
Why don't you outgrow it
Why don't we outgrow it

Raised... on all this radio
On all this radiation I was raised to know
On all this hate... that you told me was gold
That I'm supposed to worship
Why don't you outgrow it
Why don't I outgrow it
Why don't we outgrow i
