Snow was falling on a busy street as I rushed from store to store Happy voices and the sounds of carols rang out from their doors A line of people split in two around a man in tattered clothes His hands were shaking on a cardboard sign as I looked down to see what he wrote And it said There's no room at the inn There's no place in our hearts for a tiny king If Jesus showed up again Would we even hear the angels sing? Or would glare of the Christmas lights Shine so bright We'd miss the giant star? There's just no room in our season For Christmas anymore Folks were shoving in a crowded shop as I scanned the thinning shelves I grabbed the present I’d been waiting to buy so I could give it too myself A couple looked up where my find had been and frowned at the empty space And as they asked if there was one for their son I saw the look on the stockboy’s face And it said There's no room at the inn There's no place in our hearts for a tiny king If Jesus showed up again Would we even hear the angels sing? Or would glare of the Christmas lights Shine so bright We'd miss the giant star? There's just no room in our season For Christmas anymore A bell was ringing in a mittened hand as I turned away my gaze A little girl held out a big red bucket and asked me for some change My pocket jingled as I started to say that I didn’t have a cent to give When out of nowhere I heard a voice that I’ll remember as long as I live And it said There's no room at the inn There's no place in our hearts for a tiny king If Jesus showed up again Would we even hear the angels sing? Or would glare of the Christmas lights Shine so bright We'd miss the giant star? There's just no room in our season For Christmas anymore My heart was pounding as I pulled out my wallet and dropped in everything I had I turned to head back to the store when I saw the empty-handed mom and dad And as I handed them my brand new toy I saw the man in tattered clothes He turned to me with expectant eyes as I walked up and said hello Then I said There’s lots of room at my home I’ll set you a place at my Christmas meal I’ve had tough times of my own I know just how lonely you must feel And the glow of his smile that night Shined so bright I heard angels sing above There’s always room for Christmas, when you make room for love There’s always room for Christmas, when you make room for love
