The hip hop, art of stringing words together that’ll ring forever in the minds of the switched on
Flipped one, flow into the next, shouldn’t be this smooth
But when you’re working with yourself and the rap crew
You tend to pick up a thing or two, about keeping it cool, keeping it bool
Forget the sea, swim in the rhymes, of the times, avoid the crimes
If you want to get paid, pain is free, we see it all the time, but enough about this

When I thought of the idea that I had to rap
My brain snapped back told myself I’d be wack
Lack of material to put to paper
Grew up privileged instead of creating poetry I thought that I’d be whinging
Raised on Kenny and Eminem, them had real life problems
Lifted me when I was upset, didn’t need no doctor
At the end of year 12, picked up the pen, put it down shortly after
lost motivation, pulled into the cycle
Work, eat, sleep communicate with friends
Watching life unfurl, not what I expected it to be
Thought graduating would mean I’m free from the shackles of restriction, but the only restriction is me
Insecurity doesn’t let you outside your comfort zone, I feel all alone, stuck in a telephone box
But these clocks are ticking, don’t know how many rotations left before I meet my maker
So I aint gonna waste it
Many artists out their, music a literal cry for help broadcast to the world
Didn’t change the fact, their struggles couldn’t be helped, they’re internal
If you boil it right down to the core, the only one you face is yourself the devil
I guess that’s the reason as to why I’ve decided to create poetry and this artistic imagery
My whole life the only escape I’ve had has been music
So now I’m going to force my thoughts outta my head and slaughter them in my lyrics
